So long, Saltwater Grille?

On the way into work the other day, I spotted this ominous sign:

Here's the link to the Auctions page.  If you click on the Saltwater Grille link, you'll see a PDF detailing what they're selling off...which is pretty much everything.  Fryers, ovens, seats, plates, lamps, you name it.  Now I'm no expert on running a restaurant -- most of my knowledge comes from the infamous Sabatiello's episode of "Kitchen Nightmares" -- but I'm pretty sure you can't run one without those things.  Looks like SWG is another casualty of a location that's a little too off the beaten path.

I don't know about location. The Rusty Scupper survived there for years. I never heard too many good things about SWG, plus I think the Crab Shell's party atmosphere in the warmer months took away the younger crowd (back in the day, young JR, the Scupper was the waterside meat market of Stamford).

Waterside meat? That sounds yummy! No wait, it sounds gross!

yes the Saltwater Grille is gone and i do not think they did what th Rusty Scupper did as far as getting peole down there and maybe some problems with management (from a waiter i know who worked there). There is much more coming to Stamford...soon

Yeah, Mary at Napa & Co. told me that Telluride was closing. I think she said the owners are moving or opening a new place, but don't quote me...my memory isn't what it used to be! :)

I'm hearing that a high end NYC restaurantor has inked a deal to lease space somewhere at harbor point. I'm also hearing that the hotel project at harbor square is a go (they are starting to pour footings) for a W hotel and that back at town and yale they will start on an extended stay hotel next. What are others hearing?
